# GoKart Crew

> GoKart Crew is an invite-only community for amateur go-kart racing in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, for adults who love karting, whether or not they have raced before. Members join races at karting circuits North and South; a race goes ahead once its grid reaches a minimum number of drivers, and nobody pays until an organiser has booked it with the circuit and they confirm their seat.

GoKart Crew (www.gokartcrew.com) lists 26 karting circuits across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with their facts and, where we hold them, each circuit's own published prices, plus the community's upcoming races (4 right now), a driver leaderboard and a karting glossary. Anyone can browse. Racing is for members, and membership is by invite: a member sends you their invite link, or you request access and name a member who will vouch for you. Members must be 18 or over.

How a race works:

1. An organiser publishes a race: the circuit, date and time, format, price per driver, and the minimum and maximum number of drivers.
2. Members join the grid in one click. Joining is free: no card, nothing charged, and a driver can leave any time before paying.
3. When the grid reaches its minimum, an organiser books the race with the circuit and opens payments. Each driver then has a window to pay for their seat (12 hours unless the race says otherwise), and paying is what confirms it. A seat left unpaid passes to the next driver waiting, at no cost to the driver who didn't pay.
4. If a race misses its minimum of paid drivers by its deadline, or it is cancelled, every payment is refunded in full, automatically. Once paid, a seat can't be cancelled on the site and no-shows aren't refunded; the organiser may be able to pass the seat to a driver on the waiting list and refund it.
5. After the race, results and best laps go on the leaderboard: F1-style points (25-18-15…) for each finish, scaled down for races with fewer than 12 drivers, in calendar-year seasons and all-time, with best laps kept per circuit and kart class.

Two kinds of price appear on the site, and they are not the same thing. Circuit pages show each circuit's own published prices for its own sessions and race formats, in the circuit's own currency, as published by the circuit and with the day we last checked them; they are not GoKart Crew prices and not a booking offer from the circuit. A GoKart Crew race has its own price per driver, shown on the race page; under our Terms it includes our margin on the circuit's group rate, so it can differ from the circuit's own published price for the same format.

GoKart Crew organises the group, not the racing: on the day, the circuit runs the session on its own premises, under its own rules, safety briefing, insurance and age or height limits.

Members earn karma for taking part and helping out: +5 for a classified finish plus a podium bonus of +15/+10/+5, +10 per passenger for giving a lift to a race, +25 when a friend they invited finishes their first race, and +5 for answering the post-race survey. Karma is spent on cosmetics for the member's avatar (badges, helmets, suits and karts) and has no cash value.
